Survived by daughter, Diane (Bruce) Wouters and sons, Karl (Bobbie), Andrew (Debbie), Henry (Sharon), Clause (Brenda) and Bernd “Ben”; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Ewald (Sigrid); nieces and nephews, Christine, Jann, Harmine, Theda and Christa. Hermine was predeceased by her husband, Engelbert “Bert”; parents, Christina and Herman; sister, Schwanette “Nette” and brothers, Herman and Johann.
In 1957, Hermine, Bert and two young sons emigrated from Germany to Saskatchewan where the family grew and ran a dairy farm in Pilot Butte. Hermine’s hard work and devotion to family saw her balance farming chores while providing a warm, caring home for all.
After the dairy was sold, Hermine and Bert operated the Westfalia Golf Course where Hermine’s kindness welcomed many to enjoy rounds of golf.
After Bert passed in 2013, Hermine, moved to Edmonton to be near some of her children.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful palliative care of Edmonton Medical Services personnel, and the loving staff at the MacTaggart Senior facility.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
