Hilary McKeown

Hilary was predeceased by her parents Harold and Agnes (nee Thompson) Stewart, her husband Peter, and son Michael.

Hilary is survived by her sister Margaret McIlveen, daughters Kelly (Todd) French, Courtney McKeown, and sister- in- law Joan Marshall. She is also survived by her nieces Helena (Bruce) Thompson, Sandra (Alan) Price, and Alison McIlveen; her nephews Jeffrey (Heather) Marshall, Crawford (Lisa Jane) McIlveen, and Gavin McIlveen; and grandchildren Ethan Fuchs, Kaitlyn French, and Kyle French.

Cremation to take place Thursday, April 24th. There will be no service.

Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Hilary came to Canada in 1963 where she married her husband Peter and started their life together. They put down their roots in Edmonton and 5 years later, welcomed their first child. Hilary was a devoted wife and mother, focusing on her children and making a beautiful home. She was involved in the women's group at her local church, Ebenezer United, where she made many lasting friendships. Hilary loved to laugh, share in a sweet treat, and have a friendly chat. She was an avid watcher of the British soap opera, "Coronation Street", and would spend hours chatting with her best friend about how they could write the script better!

We wish to thank the amazing nursing staff at the Venta Care Centre for the wonderful care they gave to Hilary the last 2 years of her life. Hilary had an infectious smile and was known by her favourite nurse as "Hilly". She will be remembered by that smile and her kindness.
