

Jack Chick Ying Woo, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, at the age of 92 in Edmonton, AB. Born on October 7, 1933, in Shunde, Guangdong, China, Jack built a life defined by hard work, generosity, and deep love for his family. He was well known for his remarkable cooking and Woo’s Kitchen, his Chinese food restaurant in Lloydminster, AB, which he proudly ran for 40 years. His warmth, dedication, and the meals he lovingly prepared touched countless lives in the community. Later in life, he had the opportunity to be reunited with his extended biological family in China which he was eternally grateful. Jack will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Josephine; his children, Vivian, Brenda (Bill), Kathleen (Aaron), Lenny (Tuyen) and Alan; and his grandchildren, Kianna, Rylan, Mena, Micah and Jaxon.
A visitation will be held at Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St. Albert Trail Edmonton, AB on Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM.
A celebration of Jack's life will follow at Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St. Albert Trail Edmonton, AB on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 1:00 PM.
As per Jack’s wishes, he will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery, Saskatoon, SK alongside his parents.
