Jade Amber Stone was born on April 25th, 2007 to Rebecca McCann of Edinburgh, Scotland and Randall Stone of St. Albert, Alberta. She was born in Red Deer, Alberta and grew up in Blackfalds, Alberta and later in St. Albert Alberta; with a short time in Kelowna, British Columbia. Jade passed away on May 7th 2025, in Kelowna, British Columbia at the age of eighteen. Jade was a vibrant soul, whose creativity and passion touched many lives in her short time with us.
From a young age, Jade demonstrated a remarkable talent and enthusiasm for the culinary arts. By the age of five she had become a passionate chef and baker; her dedication led her to mastering baking her own bread by the age of eleven. The kitchen was often filled with the comforting aroma of fresh baked goods and gourmet meals that brought such joy to her family and friends.
Jade’s artistic abilities extended far beyond the kitchen; from age two one of her favourite pass times was to sit at the kitchen table with her mum, working on crafts while her brothers were at school. She was a talented artist who expressed herself through painting, sculpting, sewing and building inventive creations. Her art was a reflection of her quirky and witty personality, and she often infused her work with a silly sense of humour that left a lasting impression on those who experienced it.
At fifteen Jade explored an interest in tattoo art, and quickly began to turn her body into a canvas that reflected her life, loves, and silly sense of humour. While she did not enjoy tattooing other people, her mum and her brother Nathan proudly wear her designs.
Jade leaves behind many friends and family who loved her dearly. She is survived by: her mother Becca McCann (Mike Howard), her father Randall Stone (Donna Dobie), and brothers Nathan Stone and Daniel Stone. Also, her granny Marilyn Stone, grandfather Mike McCann, uncles, aunts and cousins: Ryan Stone (Vicki), Zachary, Tyler, Gavin; Leanne Dransfeld (Maurice), Max, Lachlan, Anwen, Soren; Ian McCann (Anna), Alexander, Mia, Ivy; Nicola O'Sullivan (Steven), Izabella; who all mourn the loss of a remarkable young woman whose potential was limitless.
Jade is predeceased by her grandma Shirley McCann and grandpa Stephen Stone.
Jade's life was ended far too early, less than two weeks after her 18th birthday. Despite this tragic and heartbreaking end to her earthly life, we are comforted in knowing that Jade is finally free and happy. May her soul rest in eternal joy, love and peace.
A service to celebrate Jade's life will be held on Friday May 23rd at 1pm at Memories funeral home in Edmonton, AB. There will be a livestream of the service available. Please click "Join Livestream" under the "Services" heading below at the time of service to access.
