

1945 ~ 2017
It is with profound sadness and love that the family announces the passing of a strong, passionate and caring husband, father and grandfather Jim Ottenbreit on July 23, 2017.
Jim was born on the farm in Grayson, Saskatchewan on November 6, 1945. Predeceased are Jim’s parents, Mike and Rosalia (Douhaniuk) Ottenbreit. Jim attended Radio College of Canada and began his successful aviation career in Fort Smith, North West territories where he met the love of his life, Mary (Coyne) Ottenbreit. Jim and Mary settled on the acreage in Parkland County where they raised their three children. Throughout Jim’s life he pursued his passions of family, snowmobiles, baseball, badminton, skiing, cycling, hiking, curling, trees, woodworking, knowledge sharing and inventing.
Left to carry on his memory are his beloved wife of 49 years Mary; sons, David (Christie) their children Declan, Noah and Emma; Ivan (Jodi) their children Karl and Nathan; Clayton (Gisele) their children Jorja, Drew and Carly and his brother and sisters; Ivan (Vicki), Veronica (Rene), Geralyn (Gary), Karen (Todd) and Michele (Greg) and their families, as well as his large extended family and friends.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St. Albert Trail, Edmonton, Alberta
on Saturday August 5, 2017 at 10:00 am.
