John William Weir Green

John William Weir Green, 69, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024.

He leaves behind his three daughters, Elizabeth (Riley), Margaret (Will), and Victoria.

He also leaves behind his two grandchildren, Austin and Rosalee.

When John was a young child, he came over from England to Elk Point, Alberta, making his way across the ocean by boat. With him, he brought his love of soccer, especially for his team, Sunderland A.F.C.

John spent his entire career at Syncrude Canada Ltd.; a highlight was working on the fire team and the training exercises in Texas.

When John wasn't at work, he was always with his family. His love for his daughters was unwavering. He would spend countless hours walking by the Snye with them, coaching their soccer teams, and encouraging them at school concerts and performances.

As John's girls got older, there were many telephone calls and conversations with a cup of tea or coffee, and spending time with his grandchildren, whether they were playing with Hot Wheels and puzzles or visits to the playground.
