Joseph Hwong Haw Sieng

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dearest father, grandpa, great-grandpa, Joseph Hwong Haw Sieng on August 25th, 2023, at the venerable age of 93. His departure from this earthly realm has left us with immeasurable sadness, but we find solace in celebrating a life well-lived and cherishing the precious memories he left behind.

Joseph is survived by his 8 children: Teresa (Ted), Patsy (Joseph), Anna (John), John (Christina), Paul (Angela), Peter (Aileen), Helen (Thomas), David (Esperanza) and their families, 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren who will all miss him dearly. Joseph was predeceased by his beloved wife of 48 years, Anna Hii, son, James and daughter-in-law, Lely.

Though he may no longer be physically present, his memory will forever resonate in the life lessons he taught us, the values he instilled, and the unwavering love he bestowed upon us all. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

A visitation for Joseph will be held Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St Albert Trail, Edmonton, AB T5L 4X1. A funeral mass will occur Friday, September 1, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St Charles Catholic Church, 17511 112 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T5X 5X9. A graveside service will follow immediately after mass at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 14611 Mark Messier Trail, Edmonton, AB T6V1H4.
