Joyce Baird

Joyce profoundly touched the lives of her large family and many lifelong friends. With her spirit of caring, she found her calling early as a compassionate nurse and continued as a dedicated health care manager until her retirement as Vice-President, Patient Care at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Joyce and husband Art loved their travels and hosting dinners for family and friends. Joyce was an accomplished gardener and quilter, spoiler of many lucky dogs, and most of all she cherished being Bestemor (Norwegian for grandmother) to her ten grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Knowing Joyce lifted all our lives and spirits, for which we are forever blessed and thankful.

Joyce is predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years Art, parents Jack and Nellie, and brothers Jack and Tim.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter Chase (Mike) and their children Brittany (Derek), Alex(Irene), Taylor (Lee), Aidan(Josh), Robyn, Zachary, Piper and Poppy and great-granddaughter Andromeda; and by her son James (Karen) and their children Hana and Cameron. She is also survived by her loving brother Dale (Gail) and sister Linda.

We will honour and celebrate this wonderful person on Saturday March 26, 2022 at 2pm with Reception to follow at Hainstock’s Funeral Home & Crematorium 9810 34th Ave Edmonton, AB.
