June Isabel Pooke

June Isabel Pooke of Vancouver, BC, formerly of St. Albert, Alberta, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the age of 78, following a courageous battle with Lewy body dementia. June had a distinguished career spanning over 35 years with London Life Insurance. After retiring, she continued to make a meaningful impact in her community through her role at The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy and Drug Store. There, she not only packaged and delivered medications to seniors in St. Albert but also offered her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support, forming cherished friendships with those she served.

June was a devoted wife and a remarkable mother, offering unwavering love and support to her children, their spouses, and all those who were fortunate to know her. She cherished her family and friends deeply, always ready with a kind word and a helping hand.

Her warmth and love for conversation, entertaining, and dancing were evident in her elegant and lively spirit. She approached life with confidence and never hesitated to take the lead. True to her nature, she often said, “I did it my way,” a testament to her strong, independent character.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, John, and survived by her 2 children, Jay (Brenda) and Paige (Terry), her sister Barb (John), and her brother Bruce (Virginia). The family wishes to thank the staff of Fraserview Retirement Community (Long-term care) for the compassionate care given to June. In memory of June, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia.

A celebration of life for June will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Memories Funeral Home and Crematorium, 13403 St Albert Trail, Edmonton, AB.
