

Kevin Robert Naughton born in Edmonton in August of 1958. Has passed away peacefully on November 25th, 2023 after a year’s struggle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Susan; daughters: Rebecca and Dalyce; son, Bryce; as well as three grandchildren. He also leaves behind sisters: Judy, Val, and Anne; brother, Murray; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Irene Naughton; brother, Larry; and sister Gerry.
Starting in 1977 Kevin pursued a career as a mechanic obtaining both a Canadian Red Seal Automotive Mechanic and Canadian Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic, from there Dad expanded in managerial roles that comminated as a Director of Maintenance for interprovincial transportation Company. He started his career in Mining with Bucyrus as a MT6300 {788} Haul truck Service manage in Fort McMurray in October of 2010, then after the purchase by Caterpillar became a Technology Representative for all things Terrain, which expanding in to Command of Underground space, with his last assignment being Command for Drilling. Kevin always said He “loved his job” and was considered a Subject Matter expert in Terrain, a designation he was proud of. He was always willing to help others and share is knowledge both in his current role along with mechanical knowledge of equipment.
Kevin had many hobbies outside of work. He shot ISPC for 20 years and met many people in that time. He became an avid carpenter the more he learned and built himself. Kevin was also fabulous cook, anyone enjoying one of his meals knew it was made with love.
Even though Kevin was ill in this last year he was able to go on 3 separate trips. One trip to Las Vegas, and two trips to Europe. The first trip to Europe included Portugal, Spain, France, and Ireland. The second trip was back to Lisbon, Portugal which became his favorite place to be. He returned from his last trip in September 2023.
Kevin’s wish is to be cremated. The other part of his final wish is that his ashes are to spread into the North Thompson River accompanied with beloved Labrador Retriever “Daisy” as they make their way to the Pacific Ocean.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Memories Funeral Home, Edmonton, Alberta.
