

Leonila passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 4, 1932, in Bidduang, Pamplona, Cagayan Valley Philippines, she was a devoted mother whose kindness, strength, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her.
She is lovingly remembered by her nine children: Clarita Yabis, Lourdes McBride (Ian), Nena Bitun (Johnny), Amy Ringor, Benita Duppayan (Santiago), Julito Ringor (Elsie), Remedios Arafiles (Midel), Marjorie Ursulum (Marlon), and Vicky Libunao (Danny); along with 34 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory.
Leonila is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Juan O. Ringor, as well as her parents: Simplicio and Gregoria Urbi; six siblings: Felipa dela Cruz, Faustina Maquiraya, Hermana Constantino, Franciso Urbi, Cipriana Burgos, Anastacio Urbi.
Leonila became a widow at the age of 52, and from that moment on, Leonila dedicated her life wholeheartedly to raising her children and guiding them toward successful, fulfilling lives. She was known for her generous heart, deep faith, and the warm friendliness she extended to everyone she met. Her greatest joy came from her family - her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
In September 1988, she immigrated to Canada through her daughter and son-in-law, Lourdes & Ian, beginning a new chapter filled with resilience and hope. She cherished her involvement as one of the board members with the Filipino Senior Citizens Association and the Filipino Retirees Association in Alberta, where she formed many lasting friendships. Her favorite pastimes included playing mahjong, visiting the casino, dancing, singing, and traveling with family and friends. Her presence brought warmth and comfort to family gatherings, celebrations, and everyday moments, leaving a legacy of love that will be remembered always.
A prayer vigil (wake/viewing) will be held on January 15 and 16, 2026 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., followed by a funeral Mass on January 17, 2026 at 11 a.m. both at St. Theresa's Catholic Parish. Following the Mass, Leonila will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor a life lived with love and grace. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the medical staff for their compassion and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada in memory of Leonila.
