Lisa graduated from L.Y. Cairns School in 2000. She has been active throughout the Edmonton Community. As a participant with Little Bits Therapeutic Riding, Lisa enjoyed riding - especially trotting and interacting with the many dedicated volunteers and leaders. She loved music and dancing including the ACT Zumba class, Summer Music in the Park, Rock and Rundle weekly dances, and anything Country Music especially attending concerts - Keith Urban! Lisa attended Yoga classes through the Cerebral Palsy Association and a Cooking Club where she developed skills to maintain her health and independence. Lisa bowled with the Happy Bowlers at the Bonnie Doon Bowling Lanes enjoying the friendly competition and social interaction. She was an avid festival attender loving to attend Street Performers, Fringe - any event where music and lots of action was taking place. Lisa and her friends also had a community garden through the Oliver Community League. She was active in her community interacting with anyone who had a pet to share interactions with.
Over the past several years she attended Sunday services with Beulah Alliance Church and their Friendship Group - she found the lessons from that program helpful in guiding her as she made life decisions, coped with life's stressors and met the challenge of losing her grandfather in 2017.
Lisa experienced this full and active lifestyle with the unending support and commitment of the SKILLS Society who supported Lisa in living independently in an apartment. Without the excellent care and loving interaction of the staff from SKILLS, her life might not have been so full and enjoyable. In lieu of flowers we are asking people to make a donation to SKILLS Society at www.skillssociety.ca.
Please join Laurie Wilson-Larson and Glen Larson (parents) and Melissa Larson-Harney (sister) after the Celebration of Lisa's Life for a reception. Yes Lisa - there will be cinnamon buns!
