Mary passed away suddenly while with her family in Fort McMurray Alberta. She was loved, respected and survived by her 2 sons, Bob Campbell {Trudy} and Don Campbell {Chris} of Fort McMurray, her 4 Grandchildren, Drew Campbell of Calgary, TJ Campbell {Kari} of Fort McMurray, Brett Campbell of Victoria and Ali Campbell of Statesboro Georgia and her sister, Elide {Tommy} of Trail BC.
Mary was born near Udine in Northern Italy and immigrated to Canada with her parents when she was 7 years old. She started working in her Family Grocery Store and provided housekeeping services to the residents of Trail from her early teen years and never stopped working until her retirement at 65. Marriage took her away from Trail eventually bringing her to Edmonton where she has lived the past 48 years.
Mary will be remembered by her fellow employees, friends and customers who she became aquainted with during her many years with The Bay at the Jasper Avenue, Southgate, and Londonderry Stores. She loved her job and was thankful to the Bay for giving her the opportunity to work and provide for her 2 sons as a single Mom.
Retirement brought her to her new home at Beaumaris on the Lake which was a perfect fit for her walking routine which would see her walking 5 to 8 kilometers daily. This is where she met many new friends who shared her exercise zeal and the benefits of the lake walking trail. This routine continued right up to her death.
Grandma Campbell lived and dedicated her life to her family. The many special moments that she shared with them will not be forgotten and will be a lasting legacy of our mother, grandmother and sister who will be sorrily missed.
Mary's life will be remembered and celebrated at a service at the Saint Charles Parish 17653 112 Street, Edmonton on Thursday Dec 16 at 10 am. Refreshments at the church to follow. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Mary's name are appreciated.
