It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Melita Gilks. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Steven Gilks; her daughter, Brenda Pope, and her husband, Howie Pope; and her son, Zackie Gilks and his partner Lynn. She was a devoted grandmother to Alicia Pope, Tiffany Gilks, and Dustin Gilks, and a treasured great-grandmother to two great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Zackie, Melita is now reunited with him. As a dedicated military wife, she traveled across Canada with her husband through numerous postings, working in food services on the military base. Earlier in life, she was an avid bowler and coached Little League ball, bringing passion and dedication to all she did. She also found joy in playing bingo and going to the casino—simple pleasures that brought her happiness.
She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
