It is with the deepest sorrow we announce Mel’s passing on July 7, 2022.
Mel leaves to mourn the love of his life, Sandi; his children, Dean (Lindsey), Tracie (Dallas), Kim and Jarret; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Lloyd (Joan); sister, Hazel; brother-in-law, Tom (Trudy) and sister-in-law, Susan.
Mel was predeceased by his son, Darren on August 6, 2004; his daughter, Teri-Lynn on June 9, 2010; his brothers, Keith, Rod and Ken as well as his sister, Joyce.
Mel will be forever remembered for playing his guitar and singing into the wee hours of the morning and for his love for the game of golf. Throughout the summers Mel spent many hours golfing at Belvedere Golf and Country Club and winters in Arizona where he met and enjoyed the company of many spectacular friends.
He left a memorable mark and many great memories on all the lives he touched.
The family wishes to thank all of the staff at Pilgrims Hospice for the amazing care and support they provided to Mel and his family. He became an avid spokesperson for Pilgrims Hospice which relies heavily on charitable donations. If so desired, a charitable donations may be made in Mel’s name to Pilgrims Hospice, 9808 148 street, Edmonton AB, T5N 3E8.
A Celebration of Mel’s life will take place at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Hainstock’s Funeral Home, 9810 34 Avenue, Edmonton AB.
