My Condolences to the Melnyk family. I too worked with Capt. Melnyk at station 7. He was an excellent Captain, always said it the way it was, never held back. He was respected by his crew and had a huge heart. Rest in peace Captain Melnyk.

We had some of the best camping trips together! When going out fishing, he always knew which hooks to use and where to go! Nick will be dearly missed. He was alway there to lend a helping hand!

My recall of Nick was my 1st officer at old #1. Nick helped and trained me to shift gears on the ladder truck. A few years later, Nick asked me to move a mercury fast back 429 engine. I still have it and the motor still runs! Good bye Nick, you will be remembered always. Thank you

So sorry to find Nick's obituary in Sherwood Park News on Feb 8.
Previous appointment resulted in my inability to attend his Celebration of Life.  Was able to watch it on line later.  Very good historical tribute.

Our sincere condolences to the Melnyk family on the loss of a husband, father and grandfather. I had the privilege of working with Nick as my Captain at Station 7. He was a wonderful person and firefighter. I will cherish my fond memories of him .

Thank you Uncle Nick for making my first bed.  I still have the book shelves you built in my apartment.  I was so scared when I touched your fresh paint in the garage but you did not stay angry with me very long.  You were such a great Uncle to me, as were your children.

Dear Madeline, Brenda, Brad and Nicki,
Our sincere condolences on Nick's passing. Thank you Nick for the great memories we continue to keep on the wonderful times we shared sledding, travelling, building, dancing, partying and supporting each of our families.  We will always treasure our past friendship.

My most sincere condolences to Nick's family. I worked with him at #18 for a time and admired  his mechanical know-how and would love to have had a truck like his 3/4 ton with the options he added to it that weren't normally available at the time.

My thoughts are with Nick's family today. 
I work with Nick at Station 18, good mentor and Fire Captain.
