Bert was the second child of the twelve children of Eleuterio & Consolacion Aperocho. He had a wonderful childhood growing up on the family farm. He loved fishing and hunting but was also an avid reader who loved history.
While studying law in Far Eastern University in Manila, he joined the Philippine Air Force. One summer while on vacation at home, he met again (after 13 years) his high school crush. He was married to the love of his life – Thelma Tambal for 63 years.
Bert had so much pride of his six Children, Jesusa (Albert), Berthel (Geraldine), Mina (Hernil), Divina (Shayne), Mary Ann (Henry) & Norberto Jr. (Judith). But he had more joy and pride of his nine Grand-children, Michael, Marvin, Amiel (Kareen), Alysa, Mark, Nicholas, Alexander, William & Gea. He felt so blessed with his two Great Grand-children, Asher & Aaleah.
Bert put his studies on hold after marriage, but entered politics for many years. He had a full and inspiring life. Bert brought strength and stability to the Family and a feeling of security to life. He gave his Children and Grand-children a sense of value and self-worth and a foundation of love to last a lifetime.
