Patricia Evelyn Pfau

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Patricia Evelyn Pfau. Patricia faced a myriad of ailments in her later years, demonstrating remarkable bravery and resolve in her struggle against them. Sadly, she succumbed to heart failure on December 24, 2024 at the age of 81.

Born on August 31, 1942, in Prosperity, AB, Pat was the third child and eldest daughter among thirteen siblings. She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Otto, son Barry Pfau (Magdalena), and nine siblings: Doris Dirksen, Gladys Martin, Laura Boyd (Allan), Francis Dirksen, Ronald Dirksen (Val), Lorraine Blair (Ross), Josie Nundahl, Jack Dirksen (Sue), and Millie Giroux (Jean). Pat is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Katie Dirksen, as well as brothers Francis, Jim and Donald.

Pat took great joy in her garden, radiating pride each year when her yard was chosen among the exclusive candidates for Communities in Bloom. Her culinary skills were exceptional. Her signature dishes and treats will be fondly remembered and missed by all who had the pleasure to enjoy them. Patricia’s memory, never to be forgotten, will live on in the hearts of those who loved and cherished her.

A Celebration of Life in memory of Pat will take place on Monday, January 8, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St Albert Trail, Edmonton, AB. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at Memories, and subsequently, the Internment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, at 14611 Mark Messier Trail, Edmonton, AB.
