Patricia Louise Szabo, 61, of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away on April 19, 2025. She was born on November 13, 1963 in Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia to Louis Henry.
Patricia was known for her smile, warmth, and friendly spirit with such a positive outlook on life, a glowing aura, yet straightforward with all she faced. Those who knew her know that Christmas was her “specialty” a real nut, along with anything snowmen and Disney. She loved her puppies and her cruises. Patty faced the world head on, come what may, she never wanted to miss a thing.
She worked at Kent Building Supplies in Nova Scotia and in time joined the military like her father. Patty ventured into the Supply/Procurement profession. First as a reservist then regular force, Patty was employed to procure CF-18 ports for the base, in time working at 417 Rescue Sqn working with Bell Helicopter to keep the Sqn flying. Her final posting was to 1 SVC Battalion in Edmonton where she was involved in training. She worked at Cabela’s for a number of years with the same smile as the fun person she was, where employees and returning customers adored her; she was always there to help and make their day. Finally came Patty’s retirement and time to enjoy and play. Patty faced these challenges head on, strong as life.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Steve Szabo; daughters, Chrissy (Jasen) Izard, Gina (Brett) MacIntosh, and Stephanie (Gary) Gosbee; grandchildren, Deakyn, Trayten, Zander, Hayden, Nolan, Adeline, Kylah, Theodore, and Elysia; and siblings, Debbie Valois and Bert Henry. She is also survived by her mothers-in-law, Diane Coburn and Mary Szabo, and her brother-in-law, David (Ruth) Szabo. She was predeceased by her father, Louis Henry, and siblings, Linda, Stephen, Deddie, and David.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favourite animal charity in Memory of Patty.
Patty will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew her. What to say that everyone has not said or thought.
“I miss Patty every day, we are soulmates. We learned from each other, Patty taught me Country and I taught her Rock ‘n’ Roll. We made a Vow, “for better or for worse” with our “Forever More.” I met your soul and you took my breath away. I miss you and cherish you, I miss you - who am I without you? I will plant our flower it will bloom always. I miss my love, I miss my strength, I miss my heart, I miss my friend”. All my love, Steve.
