It was sad to hear of Pete's passing. I have many fond memories of sitting in Pete's kitchen with Clarence and discussing all the world's problems etc. while having a beer with him. He taught us how to ice fish at Lac St. Anne. We would chop about a half dozen holes in the ice with heavy iron poles he fabricated. We would sit in my Volkswagen Beetle toasty warm with its gas heater and watch for any movement in the "tip-ups" to indicate a fish on the line! Geat fun and great memories. Thanks pete and may you rest in peace.

On the morning of July 18th, Joanne called us bringing sad news that her Dad, my brother, had passed away.  This was devastating news and we were in total shock.  Over the past six months, we spent a lot of quality time with Peter and assisted him in any way we could as his health was failing and he was losing his eye sight due to Macular Degeneration.  This had a major impact on Peter's capabilities such as driving and also many things that he loved to do without help.  Joanne, Clarence and I helped as much as we could.  Peter and his siblings did many things together through the years .... fishing, hunting and family gatherings.  Peter was truly loved by his family and friends.  We will miss you bro. Pete was & is a great influence to me all of my life working with him some 35 years ago. A wonderful person hard worker & motivator. Sorry to hear of your passing & good bye brother & my friend RIP.


It is with great heart felt  pain the passing of my God Father.
My deepest condolences to Joanne and Jeanne and all Pete's brothers ,sister , grand children and extended family.
I have so many good memory's of fishing and hunting from the age of 5years old in Campbell River (Race Point) with Pete, Dave and my Father Raymond until very recently.
The summers in Campbell River , the Spring time and fall in the Kootenay lake and the November hunting trips in big valley  these were Pete's favorite spots , we all had so much fun on these trips.
He also taught me to save money,  a good work ethic. and how to handle union problems , Pete was a very smart man and I'm thankful it rubbed of on me.
I miss him very much as all do, I'm sure he is fishing right now  with dad.

I love you Pete and thank you  until we meet again.



Are you gone?  Really haven’t been able to accept your passing.  If I close my eyes, I can see Henry and I going up the stairs to your front door and banging on your front door and/or window.  There you are opening your door with a big smile on your face saying…”Take your shoes off”.   Sitting on your couch and just talking and laughing….going to miss all our conversations and laughter.  Also laughing when I think of Cory and Jeff watching Popeye on TV as youngsters, and when Brutus came on they both yelled “Uncle Peter”….so I would jokingly call you Brutus and we would have a good laugh…going to miss you Peter….love you always.

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to my lifelong and dear friend Joanne and her  family.  
I will always remember ( Mr. Muzyka) your beloved dad as a ferociously loving & caring father , as well as a devoted son to your Baba. Secondly,  he was an incredibly talented and avid fisherman. 
May his soul rest in eternal peace and be reunited with all of those that have gone  before  him🙏🏻.

I first want to thank you for the many years of service, mentorship and direction you gave  to  many members that worked with you .   The United Association Local 488 will always remember your dedication and  commitment to organized labor. You truly set the stage for members to be the best of the best in our crafts, and  it was your whole Heart that  represented our great  Union. The respect you have earned will never be forgotten.

My grandpa was one in a million. I have so many memories going back all the way to when I played hockey as a youngster. He would be at my games and would be standing on the glass at whatever end I was shooting on. After the game we would review my performance over a Dr. Pepper and a bag of chips. I loved going over to the house to watch the Super Bowl, he would cook a beautiful meal and always break out the homemade cabbage rolls. We would talk for hours about everything, I loved hearing stories about the fish he caught and the  life he lived. He was a fascinating man.  Whenever he spoke to me about something important, I listened, especially when he would say, “ Matthew, save your money”. He was my grandpa and I looked up to him and I will honour his life and memories.

My brother Peter, so many wonderful memories but one that stands out that I wanted to share. He convinced me to turn down a job I had lined up at Safeway right after I had finished my 10th grade in high school.  I was 14.  He said to me “Hey you’re going to work the rest of your life, why work when but you could come with me on a fishing trip”.  It was 1961. Off we went for 2 weeks into the bush to catch fish in the wilds of Alberta.  A trip I’ll never forget.  That’s the kind of brother he was, he wanted to bond with his little brother and it’s apparent he did just that, he was my mentor and idol in all things to do with the outdoors.  I’ll miss you big brother and I’m so happy to have shared a part of my life with you.

My deepest condolences Joanne and Jeanne and to you and your families.  My heart is so heavy to hear of your father’s passing. He and I talked just recently and i am very grateful that we did. He shared stories about my early life in Campbell River and about my mother I lost when I was two. He and I cried together on the phone when I made the difficult call to let him know that my dad Clair had passed away. They were best friends and spoke everyday. What an amazing friendship. Pete has always been like a dear uncle to me and I am so happy I told him I loved him last time we spoke. I have so many great stories that Pete and dad have shared over the years… they were quite the team! He was so incredibly proud of his two beautiful daughters and all his grandchildren and you both were the light of his life Jeanne and Joanne. I feel we are blessed to have such wonderful dads and we share a bond that has  spanned many many years. I’m sure Clair was waiting with open arms to greet his best friend and show him around heaven. May Pete rest easy with the angels. He will be so missed but such lovely memories will always remain. I pray for peace and love to surround you all. Much love, Lana Foss

Pete was a cool customer, happy to tell a story- especially if it involved a “tyee” out in Campbell River - and happy to share a beer and give some free advice to the young ones. He will be sorely missed. 

I'm  so thankful that we were able to share many special times together fishing and camping as well as many family get togethers.   My mother lived with Peter until her passing and he was a wonderful son providing a home for her for many many years.   I'm sure he's already fishing in the after life, as his desire was to catch the "grand daddy" of them all.  He left us all with so many special memories and he will be greatly missed.   Memories Eternal from your sister and all your family here in Vancouver.
