Ronald George Jackson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald George Jackson, beloved Husband, Dad, Grandpa and friend, who passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved him deeply on March 21, 2025. He was 79 years old.

Ron was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He was a loving and devoted husband to his caring wife of 52 years Lynda, and a proud father to their three daughters, Lori (Jamie Miller) and their children Natasha, Kasandra (Branden), Dayton, Corbin and Jade, Lisa (Marc Anderson) and their daughters Alyssa and Briella, Lynn (Jason Jongsma) and their sons Jackson, Lincoln, and Jettlyn, three siblings Bryant, Sharon and Janet and their families. He was predeceased by his parents Alice Nicholson and Harold Jackson. Ron had a unique way of showing his affection - whether it was through his quiet acts of kindness, his loyalty to those he cared for or through his creative spirit. He had a special way of making his family and friends feel loved, valued and understood, often in ways that words could not fully capture.

Throughout his life, Ron had a fulfilling career in heavy-duty equipment, where he earned the respect of his peers for his expertise and dedication. But beyond his professional life, Ron had a deep passion for woodworking. His creative and crafty hands brought to life many beautiful pieces — from toys, canoes to furniture and unique wooden articles. Even a kids size motorized wooden car that got going way too fast some days. His work was a reflection of his love for detail, craftsmanship, and creating things that would last for generations.

Ron’s legacy will live on through his family, but it is the quiet moments of love and care he shared with his family that will forever be cherished. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honour to the Alberta Lung Association (COPD) to help continue the fight against chronic lung disease.

A private celebration of life will be held at later date.
