Rose Andruchow

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Rose Andruchow on August 6, 2024 at the age of 83 years.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Garth) Poulter, grandson, Ryan Poulter, and son, Mark Andruchow; brother-in-law, Francis (sister-in-law, Shirley) Andruchow, two sisters-in-law, Sonia Zaplotynsky and Barbara Andruchow, numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Alexander "Sandy" Andruchow; daughter, Deborah; mother, Mary; father, William "Bill" Yurkiw; sisters, Mildred Sande and Katherine "Kathy" Kallis; brother, Steve Yurkiw; mother-in-law, Olga, and father-in-law, Joseph "Joe" Andruchow; sister-in-law, Beth Rusnak; brothers-in-law, Ed and Russell Andruchow, Raymond Zaplotynsky, Allen Kallis, and Clifford Sande; nephews, Andrew "Andy" Sande and Scott Woitas and great-niece, Brandi Vandermeer.

Rose enjoyed camping with her family every summer, traveling in Alberta and British Columbia. Later, the family settled into a lake lot at Lac la Nonne, Alberta. After giving up the lake lot, Rose and Sandy traveled in their RV to the east coast, a life-long dream of theirs. They also traveled to Mexico and many states in the USA, including Hawaii. Rose enjoyed her many years of working in the kitchen at the NAIT main campus and made good friends over the years. Rose enjoyed retirement in her home of 50+ years and after selling the house, Rose and Sandy moved to an independent seniors apartment. Rose lived there for eight years until she moved to an assisted care facility as she struggled with dementia. Rose's last 2 years were lived out there with the staff who were kind, caring, and treated her with respect.

Cremation has occurred and a graveside service will take place on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 1:30pm at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 16102 Fort Road NW, Edmonton, where Rose will be laid to rest beside Sandy.
