

Shirley was born the second child of Guy & Ruth Chamberlin in Cowansville, Quebec on the 24 of June, 1942. Shirley was the beloved wife of Douglas (Herbie) Thompson (deceased) and mother of her four children, Robin (deceased), James (Barbera), Michael, and Susan (Jerrid).
She was the cherished grandmother of six (6) granddaughters, Shania, Ayla, Adda, Miranda, Madison, and Anya.
Predeceased by her parents Guy & Ruth Chamberlin, and her younger brother, Kenneth.
Survived, and greatly missed, by her sisters, Della, Leslyn, Cynthia, Catherine; brothers, Nelson, and Clifford, as well many nieces and nephews.
Shirley grew up in Sutton, Quebec until her family moved to Ontario in 1953, first to Oshawa and then to Zion. After high school, she joined the RCAF and was married in 1964. In 1971, Shirley, Doug and their three (3) children moved to Rae-Edzo, NWT, where Susan joined the family. In 1976 the family moved to Yellowknife, NWT where she worked at the GNWT until 1990, when she retired. Shirley moved with Doug to BC in 1990 where she became an avid quilter. She lived in BC until 2010, then she finally moved to Spruce Grove, Alberta.
A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at a future date once gathering restrictions are lifted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
