March 5, 1931 – August 24, 2025
With deep love and sorrow, the family of Stephanie McNee announces her peaceful passing at the age of 94. Born on March 5, 1931, Stephanie lived a life rooted in faith, service, and love — always giving more than she took and nurturing everyone who crossed her path.
Stephanie was a devoted member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Women’s League and an active presence in St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, where she found deep community and purpose. In her later years, she found a spiritual home at St. Anthony’s, continuing her lifelong commitment to faith and fellowship. No matter the occasion — a wedding, a funeral, a regular Sunday service or at home — Stephanie could always be found in the kitchen. “Baba’s” heart was in her cooking, and it nourished more than just the body — it brought people together, comforted the grieving, and celebrated life’s milestones.
Stephanie is survived by her loving daughter Christine, dear son-in-law Thomas, daughter Carolyn, and her beloved sister Sylvia. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren and their spouses: Anne-Marie (Jessica), Rev. Fr. Peter (Dobr. Erin), Violet (Brett), and Cassandra (Joel), along with her great-grandchildren: Gabriel (Charlie), Kieran, Isabelle, Grayson, Noah, Finn, Dane; step-great grandchildren: Acelyn, Fletcher, Oliver and Izzy. She will also be deeply missed by her niece Michelle (Martin), nephew Michael (Judy), great nephews Christopher (Brittany) and Sean, great niece Sarah as well as many relatives from the McNee family, family in Ukraine, and a wide circle of lifelong friends.
She was predeceased by her devoted husband Lloyd, her parents Michael and Maria and many dear friends who went before her.
Stephanie’s family expresses their sincere appreciation and thanks to the staff of the Westview Continuing Care Health Center who provided care and compassion to her and our family over this last year and a half.
The funeral rite will be held on Saturday September 6th, 2025 at 10:00AM with Rev. Fr. Peter Haugen & Rev. Fr. Dr. Timothy Chrapko presiding at St Anthony’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 6103-172 St, Edmonton AB. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stephanie’s memory to St. Anthony’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
With the saints give rest, O Lord, to your departed servant Stephanie,
and make her memory to be eternal.
Вічна Її Пам'ять!
