Travis-John “TJ” Edgar Adams was a wonderful and deeply loving son, brother, grandson, and friend. He was full of love and cared fiercely about the people in his life, showing that love in countless ways—through his kindness, his generosity, and simply by being present.
Travis loved his family above all else. He cherished time spent together, whether cooking, talking, or just hanging out. He often spoke about how much he loved his brothers and sister—Andrew, Heather, and Carson—and how truly blessed he felt to be part of such a close and loving family. He was especially proud of his Gramma, who was his greatest joy.
Travis had a gentle side that not everyone got to see, but those who did were forever changed by it. He was always looking out for others—always willing, always kind. He loved his friends, his aunties and uncles, and his many cousins. Everyone who knew Travis loved him.
A hard worker who liked to stay busy, Travis found his true calling as a carpenter. He worked in framing and was a proud member of the Carpenters Union, taking great pride in his craft and the work he did with his hands. He carried himself with quiet strength, respect, and integrity. Travis was also very proud to be Cree and held deep respect for his Native traditions and culture.
Travis loved the outdoors and felt most at peace in nature. He loved riding his bike through the river valley, fishing, and riding along the Pacific Ocean. British Columbia held a special place in his heart—the wilderness, the ocean, and the freedom he felt there. He often spoke of the beauty of Mother Earth: the trees, the water, the animals, the fresh air, and the warmth of the sun on his face. He found wonder in all of it.
Music was part of Travis’s everyday life. He loved all kinds of music, and it inspired him deeply. He also loved to dance—freely and joyfully. Music and the outdoors were where his spirit felt most alive.
Travis was wild and free, just like his spirit.
As Travis journeys through the spirit world, we will remember him when we step outside and feel the fresh air, when we ride our bikes, when we sit quietly and feel grateful for family. We will remember him when we dance, when we laugh, when we sit by the fire with good friends and family—just as TJ loved to do—listening to music and enjoying the night air. That is how Travis lived.
May he always know how deeply he is loved.
TRAVIS WAS LOVE.
And he will always be remembered, always be loved, and always be part of us.
