Waylon Drew Lawrence

July 16, 1970 - November 26, 2025

Lawrence, Waylon Drew late of Edmonton lost his battle to CHF and COPD on Wednesday November 26, 2025 at the age of 55. Waylon was predeceased by his parents Lannon Drew Lawrence and Doris Eva (Blackmore) Lawrence, aunts and uncles, brother-in-law Doug McEwen.

Waylon is survived by his siblings Holly (Lawrence) McEwen, Shawn (Audrey) Lawrence and Twyla Lawrence; nieces and nephews Rebecca McEwen (Tylor Harris), Daycia McEwen (Mike Schick), April Lawrence, Amber Lawrence, Jesse Lawrence, Taylor Lidster (Alex), Victoria Myers (Mike) and Christina Wharton; great nieces and nephews Hailey Harris, Mason Harris, Benjamin Harris, Emily Harris, Connor Schick, Olivia Schick, Kylen Lawrence, Bekkam Thom, Dexdon Lawrence, Greyson Lawrence, Austin Mitton, Amelia Lidster, Sophia Myers and Lannon Myers.

Waylon “Spanky” Lawrence was born in Arcola, SK on July 16, 1970. He was raised on the family farm in the Manor area until 1979 and then in Weyburn, SK. He moved to Edmonton, AB in 1993. He moved to Beaumont, AB in 2013 when he bought his house and moved back to Edmonton AB in 2025.

Waylon worked many years as a steam fitter/pipe fitter. Waylon enjoyed watching sports, especially CFL and NHL. He was an avid RoughRiders fan and could often be spotted in full fan regalia. Waylon had a love for trivia (everything 80s and hair metal), friends and family game nights and dressing up for Halloween. He liked to cook but could/would not follow a recipe. Waylon had a quick wit, warm heart and a larger-than-life personality which meant he made friends everywhere he went and routinely found himself being the centre of attention, a spot he never liked. Waylon's sharp memory ensured he never missed a birthday or special occasion for his loved ones. His family and friends were his first priority and he had a way of making everyone feel special and loved. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
