Bertha Pauline Menard

March 31, 1936 - February 8, 2021

Bertha (Bert) Menard passed away at the age of 84 on February 8, 2021, in San Diego, California. She was born March 31, 1936, to Telesphore and Catherine Richard in Sanford, Maine, and grew up in Centerline, Michigan.

In 1957, Bert met the love of her life John “Ray” Menard, a US Marine, in a French Club in Detroit, Michigan. They married on August 23, 1958. She was a devoted wife and mother to her three children. They moved around the United States before being transferred to San Diego. They fell in love with San Diego and raised their children in the Clairemont area. They are parishioners of Our Mother of Confidence Catholic Church. Bert was fond of the time she spent fostering newborns with Catholic Charities. When they retired, they spent months in their motor home traveling to every state and Canada. Her favorite role was GRANDMA!.

Bert is survived by her Husband, children Catherine (Thomas) Badali, Prescott, AZ, Renee Menard, San Diego, CA, and John (Cheryl) Menard, Santee, CA; and four grandchildren Monique Menard, Celine Menard, Rachel Ruff, and Ryan Ruff; and sister Vi Johnson, Fort Mohave, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her Mother, Father, and brothers Roger, Gerald, and Marvin Richard.

Services will be held on April 9, 2021 at 1030 at Our Mother of Confidence Catholic Church. The internment will follow at 1230 at Miramar National Cemetery.
