She joins her husband, James Wright, children Pamela (Wright) and Mike Carroll, James Wright II, Robert and Ann (Parker) Wright, William Wright, her brother, Earnest Pearson II and sisters, Inez, Almeda, Maxie, Virginia and Ruth.
Born on January 15, 1928 in San Diego, CA, Betty was the sixth of seven children born to Mae (Moore) and Earnest Pearson. Betty enjoyed her days on their family ranch in El Cajon with her one brother and five sisters before moving to Pasadena. There, she had treasured her memories of diving off the Venice Pier and filling the theater with friends to watch The Wizard of Oz for eight cents. The Pearson family returned to their ranch in El Cajon where she continued her education and attended Grossmont High School.
In 1944, she met and married the love of her life, a handsome young Marine from Michigan, James Wright. Together, Betty and James had seven children and enjoyed their early life in Santa Ana, CA. Later they moved to Michigan before Betty and her children returned to her parent’s ranch in Potrero, CA. Although ranch life was tough, Betty enjoyed how the hard-work helped her raise her children strong, and the life-long friends they made in the ranching communities of Campo and Potrero.
After raising her seven children, Betty longed for a simpler life and moved to Palm Desert, CA to work and play golf. The desert suited Betty and she adored hosting large family gatherings at her desert homes and her grandkids loved to visit.
Betty moved closer to family in San Diego after retiring from the workforce before her move to Yuma, AZ. Betty enjoyed swimming, golfing, music, traveling, ranch and desert life, but most of all she loved every one of her family and friends. She was a proud, sassy, special beacon of light and will be deeply missed by all that have been blessed to have known her.
