Carol Ann Hansen, Nina Carol to so many, beloved sister, aunt and dear friend, died peacefully on September 6, 2024 surrounded by her loving family after a long, hard battle with cancer. Carol was born to John and Bernice Hansen on December 16, 1944. She is survived by her brother, John, her five girls and numerous nieces and nephews. She was from a long line of native San Diegans of which she was very proud.
Nina Carol loved many things including, mermaids, elephants and angels. She loved spending time with her family and friends, including her work family who she loved as her own. She was dedicated to her job more than most and referred to it as her first home. It truly was her happy place. She was incredibly generous, not only with material things, but also with her time. She was never too busy to lend a helping hand.
Carol Ann will be missed greatly by everyone who knew her. She was a light in our world that we were lucky enough to stand in the midst of. She wore an angel pin on her shoulder every single day. It was a constant reminder of the blessing that she was to us all. We are so lucky now to have her as our special angel.
