She was born March 6,1926 in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of Frank J Popadowski, Annette L. Nawrocki Popadowski, and sister of Geraldine Popadowski Witt.
Her Father was transferred to San Diego with Consolidated Aircraft/Convair from the facility in Buffalo when Corrine was 9. She graduated from Hoover High School in 1944 and went on to finish her education at Kelsey Jenny Business College. She was a member of the Alpha Iota Sorority, a National professional and social sorority for women in the field of business. She had an exciting job working with a group of stockbrokers in Downtown San Diego in the late 1940s. She loved the music of the Big Band Era and often spoke of dancing the night away at the Pacific Square Ballroom. A friend from another financial office introduced her to her son and his best friend, Laird D. Griffiths, who became her future husband. They were married for 62 years.
Laird and Corrine moved from their home in National City in 1961 to El Cajon where she lived for 60 years. She was active with her daughters supporting their interests and helping Laird with their business, Valley Trailer Supply. She had a wonderful group of neighborhood friends who gathered frequently.
Corrine will be remembered for her sense of style, grace and heartfelt generosity. She is survived by two daughters Debbie Hadaway, Diane Jennings (Les), one grandchild Corey Hadaway and her nephew Gary Witt.
She was Beautiful.
