Elaine Ann Marek

Elaine Ann Forestal Marek passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29th, 2026 at the age of 97. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend whose presence brought warmth and strength to all who knew her.

Born on June 23, 1928 in Duluth, Minnesota She believed in caring for others, offering support without hesitation, and making every person feel welcome. In her life career as a Registered Nurse, working for St. Mary’s Hospital in Minneapolis, and Kaiser Permanente in San Diego, she was the kind of nurse and person who made everyone feel welcome, valued, and cared for. Her generosity reached far beyond her family, touching friends, neighbors, and anyone fortunate enough to know her.

She found joy in life’s beautiful moments: family births and celebrations, holidays, traveling, getting her pilots license and flying around our great nation. She taught us the value of compassion, resilience, and finding happiness in everyday moments.

She is survived by her family, Susan and Tony Battisti, Jane and Stephen Shannon, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C Marek and daughter, Nancy Ansorge.

Her family takes comfort in knowing that her love will remain with them always. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
