

Elizabeth Carrole Redden McGrath, 88, a native San Diego resident, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026. Born on July 6, 1937, to Alpha and William Redden, Carrole lived a remarkably adventurous life.
As the daughter of a Navy officer, she lived in the Philippines as an infant before moving to Washington D.C., during WWII. She eventually returned to San Diego to live with her grandparents and later attended boarding school at the Academy of the Little Flower. In her youth, she spent memorable summers participating in Colorado cattle drives, fostering a lifelong passion for horses, hard work, and the outdoors. She was also a talented crocheter and traveler.
Carrole found great joy in exploring the country in an RV with her beloved husband, Kenneth, frequently trout fishing in the Sierra Nevadas and camping. Closer to home, she was a wonderful cook who loved canning fresh goods from her garden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth McGrath. She is survived by her children, Tami Wright, Liz Buelow, and Kenneth P. McGrath Jr.; her four grandchildren; and her three great-grandchildren. Her family will foreverher unwavering love and support. Rest in peace, dear Carrole.
Visitation will be held at El Cajon Mortuary and Cremation Service, 684 South Mollison Ave., El Cajon, CA 92020, US, on June 3, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
