A Letter from Heaven
When tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes,
All filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn't cry,
The way you did today;
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you;
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too.
When tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart;
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here in your heart.
Genine Michelle Johnson was a natural leader whose winning presence allowed her to take control of various situations with ease. Equipped with a clear and calculating focus, she possessed a tough-minded, “take charge” attitude. She had the ability to make even routine situations seem exciting, and she was at ease with the role of playing problem solver. Genine always sought out the scene of where the action was. Sociable, analytical and pleasant, Genine was an individual who enjoyed life’s challenges. Genine was raised to be accepting of others and to implement a strong personal work ethic.
Her parents were Eugene and Nadine. Always able to express herself well, Genine possessed strong interpersonal skills. She was optimistic in her outlook on life and was able at all times to be open and direct in her communication. She was opinionated and gave it to you straight but always in your best interest. Genine was the greatest storyteller and her quick wit, sarcasm and humor had people laughing constantly.
As a young child, Genine showed her creative ability in many ways. She was outgoing and animated. Genine enjoyed new activities and pursued a variety of interests. In her spare time she liked dancing and singing. Genine was raised with two siblings. She had one younger brother, Joseph, and one younger sister, Stephanie. Genine had a strong desire to be treated fairly and would readily offer others the same fairness in return. She loved her family and friends fiercely and would momma bear any situation if you dared cross anyone she loved.
Very much like a kid herself, Genine identified with the inquisitive and creative side of her son’s personality. She was able to direct her energy and spontaneity towards helping her son acquire added common sense skills. Genine was blessed with her son, Gabrael. She was the most loving, patient and understanding mother to Gabrael and would do anything within her power to make sure he had everything he needed and more. Her love was abundant and Gabrael knew that he meant the world to her.
Genine passed away on July 9, 2022 comfortably in her parents home in El Cajon, California. Genine fought a brave battle against esophageal cancer. She is survived by her parents Eugene and Nadine, her siblings Joseph and Stephanie and her son Gabrael. Services were held at El Cajon Mortuary. Genine was cremated and resides with family so she is always near.
Genine was a comfort while she was here and it will be a comfort to know that she is going to be watching over us. She had an immense impact on so many lives and she had a huge part of so many people's hearts. She was truly special and that is how she will always be remembered.
