Ina Nadine May’s life did not come to an end when she received her angel wings on December 4th, 2021, because she was surrounded by her loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Nadine was born in Prague, Oklahoma on May 8th, 1932. Her family sold their farm and traveled across the country to Stockton California to work in the shipyards. She received the Queen picker award and her Father received the King award.
In 1950, at a sock-hop dance, wearing a pretty pink dress, she met the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” May. It was a whirlwind romance and they married shortly after. She worked in a bank while attending Beauty school in the 60’s. Nadine and Chuck moved to San Diego where she met her best friend ‘Betty’ and she became a part time hairdresser on the side. She opened her own Beauty Shop and successfully ran it for 30 years in Lemon Grove.
Chuck and Nadine had two children: Jerry Wayne Miller May (deceased), and is survived by her daughter, Linda Charlene May Martin.
Both Nadine and her son Jerry opened Broadway Antique Mall in 1991. Later they expanded and opened Lemon Grove Antique Mall. Nadine worked 6, sometimes 7 days a week and loved the antique business.
