Katelin Sylvia Voelker, 21, of Lakeside, California, left this world suddenly on Sunday, January 10, 2021. Katie, born May 19, 1999, in San Diego, California, was the daughter of David Russell Voelker and the late Julie Ann Wrigley.
Katie was strong, loyal, adventurous. Her smile was infectious. She loved the rain, warm blankets, eating out, and Starbucks. She was kind, fierce and independent.
She was fearless and not afraid to get dirty. She valued spending time with family. Katie grew up visiting the river and playing in the Glamis sands, dancing around a campfire with her dad and brother, Kole. At night, she was always the first one to spot a satellite. With her youngest brothers, she would surprise them with “Dino egg” hunts and tormented them with tickles. She looked forward to long weekend cabin trips in the woods with her aunts and uncles. She was loved deeply.
Katelin is preceded in death by her mother, Julie Ann; Grandparents, Russell and Marian Voelker; Sylvia and Albert Wrigley.
She leaves behind her father, David Voelker, step-mother, Erica Voelker; siblings, Kolten, Vander, Asher, and Summer Voelker; dog, Sydney; her aunts and uncles, Sherry and Chris Hatton, Beth and Dave Rust, Lesley and Bruce Rancourt and many cousins, friends, and extended family.
She will forever be missed by all who knew and loved her. Rest easy and watch over us, our guardian angel, Katie Bug.
Services for Katie will be held outdoors on Quincy Canyon Road in Lakeside, CA on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 1p. Additional information can be found at www.ripkatie.com
