Marynell Elizabeth Johnson

March 24, 1933 – May 4, 2016

Marynell Elizabeth Johnson went home to be with the Lord on May 4, 2016, with her family by her side. Marynell was 83 years old.

Marynell was born at home in Breda, Iowa and grew up in Carroll, Iowa. She worked at the Maid Rite Café in her teen years. She met the love of her life; Lloyd C. Johnson and they married and moved to San Diego in 1947. They were married for 39 years before Lloyd went home to be with the Lord.

Marynell & Lloyd had two children, Linda Kay Johnson and Larry Calvin Johnson. They lived in National City, CA for most of their lives until moving to Bonita, CA.

Marynell graduated from Sweetwater Adult School; after raising her two young children. She worked at Sweetwater Union High school and was a favorite among the students and the faculty. After 28 years of working for the school district, Marynell retired from Southwest High School in 1990.

Marynell had hundreds of wonderful friends. She loved Serving the Lord and attending Prime Time, and various Bible Study groups. Marynell was a “People Person” and had a very warm and giving heart. She enjoyed being a greeter for church and loved to travel. Marynell enjoyed life to the fullest and loved to laugh. Most of all, she wanted to serve her Lord and Savior.

Marynell loved her family unconditionally and is survived by: Daughter Linda Hendricks and husband Allan; Granddaughters Lori Rohletter and husband Matt, and Jodi Mosher. She was known as Great Grams by: Britni, Malia, Makayla, and Micah. Also survived by sisters; Lorraine Duckworth and Sharon Baier, and brother Vincent Schieffer Jr., sisters -in law, Dorothy Cummings, Ruth Runzel, Donna Martz, and Mary Helton and she will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Marynell was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Calvin Johnson and her son Larry Calvin Johnson, Brother Eugene Schieffer, sisters, Dorothy Julich, Diane Cross, and her sister-in-law Betty Bradshaw.

• Graveside Service: Glen Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita Rd., Bonita, CA Friday, May 13th, 2016 at 1:00 pm.

• Celebration of Life: Gateway Church, 1280 N. Johnson, El Cajon, CA 92020 Saturday, May 14th, 2016 at 3:00 pm.

Everyone is invited to honor and give tribute to a wonderful woman who was loved by many.
