

Born 1/9/1930 to Tom Kosmas and Mary Kosmas (Pappas) in Kenilworth Utah. Nick was a loving husband to his wife of 63 years Betty and father to Bill (wife Christina) and Athena (husband Jeff). He was preceded in death by his brothers Tom and Mike. Nick is survived by his brother John, as well as 14 nieces and nephews, 5 grand children, and 2 great grand children.
Nick moved to San Diego in 1943 where he graduated from San Diego High School. He served in the Korean War with the U.S. Army Rangers earning the Korean Service medal, the Combat Infantry medal and a Bronze Star. In 1956 Nick graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Nick was a wonderful provider for his family with a 41 year career with General Dynamics and 20 years teaching business administration in the evenings at SDCC. Through all that he managed to take an active part in the lives of children as a Pop Warner and Little League coach.
Nick was a great outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish. Nick was also a fantastic gardener, feeding his family and the entire neighborhood with fruit and vegetables year round. He always had a good joke to tell to lighten any mood.
Upon the death of his brother Mike, he assumed the role of family leader for Mike’s children John, Jim, Tom, and Mary Ann. He worked to keep the family close and intact throughout his life.
Nick was one of those people who was liked by all he came in contact with and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
He passed peacefully in his sleep on 5/3/2018.
