I met Reuel when I was asked to manager a softball team for NEC. Well my new team had a team mom already. Sandy Bailey. Which we are best friends now still. Well she was Reuel Whites neighbors.  And so knowing and watching Reuel coach was amazing. I was lucky enough to have him as a couch a couple times. He was an amazing coach friend and legend.  My hearts hurts losing such a great friend. RIP Coach. I know he will be coaching in heaven. My prayers are with the family in this tough time. Everyone loves you.

My dad used to just call me up for no reason.  He’d sit in the parking lot of ECVHS and use his cell phone just to say “Hi Punkin”.  He was my hero and my sounding board.  I loved it when he would come for a visit whether we were in Northern Texas, Northern California, West Germany, or even Northern Utah.  He never complained to me.  He always seemed proud of whatever I chose to do.
Obviously, he loved his softball teams.  He rarely, if ever missed my softball games, swim meets, gymnastic meets, or shuttlecock games.  I could always catch him up in the stands with his movie camera.  He always seen to love my friends as much as I did.
There will be another person, dad, friend, husband, grandpa, son, uncle, brother, or mentor.
For my immediate family Reuel was preceded in death by his parents Elsie (Hendricks) and Reuel White, his brother Lawrence White, his nephew and niece (respectively, Lawrence White Sr, and Lynne White (Swiggart) survived by Dianna, his wife of 69 years, Judi white Hinkle (Jim), Sheri Naumann (Paul).  He is also survived by his grandsons John (Beth), Jeremy (Laurie), Travis, and Thomas and by Kenneth (Janet).  Reuel is also survived my his great grandchildren Maya, Justice Reuel, and Harvey.
There will be a private graveside service next week and a wonderful Celebration of Life at the end of October.
Go Coach Heaven’s girls softball.  You will be miss by those who love you dearly.  I look forward to when we will meet again.

We are grateful to be a part of the Reuel White family through the marriage of our daughter Janet to his grandson Ken 12 years ago... but we became part of the family 20 years ago when they met!  Reuel was a kind man,  gentle and loving.  Family gatherings with him were fun, talking to him about the Padres, the kids, and more recently about his great-grandson.   Jim's Dad, Don enjoyed the family get togethers where he and Reuel would be off to the side having conversations related to sports, growing up in the early years etc.  "Driveway Wine" events at his and Dianna's beautiful yard were the best!  Reuel will be missed by us all...  To Dianna, his wife of 69 years, we send our love.  Sheri/Paul our thoughts are with you at this time.  Ken/Janet/Harvey we love you and know you'll miss your "Pa".
