

Ronald William Sousa was born on May 18, 1947, in Kentucky, to his caring parents, William and Edna (Blocksom) Sousa. As the eldest of seven siblings, Ronald took on the role of a mentor and protector, fostering close-knit family bonds that would last throughout his life.
In his late sixties, he found love and married Dorothy, a relationship that brought him immense joy and companionship. They shared wonderful moments together over their seven years of marriage until Dorothy passed away in 2014.
Ronald had a deep passion for motorcycles, which fueled many memorable cross-country trips during his younger years. The open road and the thrill of adventure brought him immense happiness. Friends and family fondly recall stories of his travels, filled with spontaneity and a zest for life.
He was known as a diligent worker, always putting in the effort without complaint or anger. His unwavering patience and dedication earned him the respect of his colleagues and loved ones alike.
To his family, Ronald was much more than just a brother or an uncle; he was a guiding figure, admired and cherished by his numerous nieces and nephews and their children. Ronald never forgot a birthday and routinely checked in with family members to see how everyone was doing. His phone calls will be missed.
On January 20, 2025, Ronald passed away at his home in El Cajon, California. His legacy of love, resilience, and adventure will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be profoundly missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
Ronald was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy, and his sister, Mary-Jo. He is survived by his siblings, Richard, James, Edna-Mae, Barbara and Sue; nephews Eric, James, Tyler and Joseph, and nieces Leah, Irene, Vanessa, Carolin, Caroline, and Patricia. He is also survived by 7 great nephews and nieces.
