

Rosalie Passalacqua, 76, El Cajon, was surrounded by her loved ones when she peacefully passed away on February 19, 2017, after suffering complications of pneumonia. Rosalie was born on September 3, 1940, in Carini, Sicily, Italy, to the proud parents of Joseph La Fata and Anna “Farnese” La Fata. She, her parents and her brothers, Joseph and Carmen along with her sister Rina moved to Ferguson, MO when she was 15 years old. After graduating high school, Rosalie married the love of her life, Jasper, where they were married for nearly 56 years. In 1965, while visiting family in San Diego, they fell in love with San Diego where they remained. As a devoted wife and homemaker, Rosalie loved to make cannateddi, cuccidate, canoli, and always had a fresh pot of espresso for her husband, family and guests. Rosalie loved her family very much and enjoyed Sunday afternoons where the family would gather at her home to enjoy traditional Sicilian cooked meals. Rosalie lived for her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchild. Rosalie is survived by her husband Jasper, her son Anthony and his wife Judi, her daughter Rosalia and her husband Daniel, her son Joseph and his wife Francisca. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kristina, Alexander, Cristopher, Emily, Kayla, Bianca, Alessandra, great grandson Jonathan, brothers, sisters, many nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held at El Cajon Mortuary on March 2, 2017, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary at 6:30. Mass will be held at St. Kieran Catholic Church in El Cajon on March 3, 2017, at 1130. A precession to Holy Cross will be immediately following.
