Rose Adamo, age 84, of Chula Vista, CA, passed away peacefully on June 19, surrounded by her loving family.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Rose was the beloved matriarch of a large and close-knit family. She is survived by her five children: daughters Lilian (late John Khoury), Sonia (Joseph Palenchar), and Lina (late Steve Mann); sons Elias (Cynthia) and Michael (Pamela). She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, her brother Abboud Khoury, and her sisters Najah Bassous, Amal Khoury, and Souad Rassam.
Rose was a faithful servant of God above all else. A dedicated parishioner and choir member at St. Paul’s Syriac Orthodox Church, she lived to share the love and warmth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, with everyone she met. Her life was a testament to grace, devotion, and unwavering faith.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Archdeacon Jack Adamo; her parents, Very Rev. Yousef Khoury and Badria Dawli; her sisters Najiba Khoury and Zahida Alkass; her brother Yacoub Khoury and her granddaughter Mirelle Khoury.
Rose will be remembered for her gentle heart and her steadfast faith that inspired all who knew her.
A wake will be held on Monday, June 23, from 7:00–9:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Syriac Orthodox Church, 8824 Cottonwood Ave., Santee. CA. A funeral service will be celebrated at the church on Tuesday, June 24, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery and Mausoleum, 4470 Hilltop Drive, San Diego.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Rose’s memory to St. Paul’s Church—her spiritual home and the place she loved most.
