Tom passed away peacefully on his 75th birthday at home after a one month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Washington, PA and grew up in Nemacolin, PA. After high school graduation he enlisted in the US Navy and spent the last three years of his enlistment at NAS Miramar. Tom attended San Diego City College and retired as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer from Solar Turbines, Inc. in San Diego after thirty-seven and one half years.
Tom was preceded in death by parents John and Geraldine Murphy and brother Jack. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sandy Pecjak-Murphy, daughter Sheryl Breidenstein (Tim), son Tom, Jr. (Tamara), eight grandchildren and brother Jerry of NY and nieces and nephews.
Tom loved camping and off-roading in younger years, enjoyed playing golf with friends and having family gatherings and BBQ's.
