Christine Steed

She was born January 15, 1936, to Jack Cates and Beatrice Hill in El Dorado. Christine was a homemaker and a member of Parkers Chapel First Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, R.D. Steed; son, Eddie Welch; grandson, Cody Wayne Martindale; one brother and three sisters.

Survivors include children, Dennis and Marsha Martindale, Jackie and Joyce Martindale, David and Connie Welch all of El Dorado; grandchildren, Lauri Frugé and husband Milton, Lindsey Griffin and husband Lane, Christy Martindale, Jay Martindale and wife Jeri, Craig Martindale and wife Jenny, Heather Bradley and husband Jeff, Johnathan Welch and wife Kathy, Private Christopher Welch, Shanna Welch; brother, Alfred Cates and wife Mary of El Dorado; sister, Shirley Taylor and husband Jerry of Farmerville, AR; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2011, in Young’s Chapel with Bro. Larry Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
