

Born September 20, 1957, he was the son of Frances Smith Oakley and Donald McKnight. He was a Bromine Operator for Great Lakes Chemcial Company, a rural mail carrier for U.S. Post Office, and worked maintenance for the Federal Center. Chris was a member of First Assembly of God Church. He was a 20 year member of Pride Youth Programs, also he was involved in many music functions and provided sound equipment in El Dorado including Musicfest, Showdown at Sunset, and many community activities including being a member of the Corney Bottom Boys Band, as a bass player. Chris was also a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Preceding him in death was his grandparents, Rodney and Aileen Smith and C.A. and Rose Idella McKnight.
Survivors include his wife Frances McKnight of El Dorado; 2 daughters, Lori McKnight of El Dorado and Christi McElroy of Stuttgart; 2 step children, Randy Kenly, Jr. and his wife, Jeanne of Doyline, Louisiana and Brandy Bibby and her husband Jacob of Shreveport, Louisiana; his parents; grandchildren, Chase, Justin, Devan, and Kristina Kenly, Eli Bibby, Na’tiya and Kaylee McElroy; 1 brother, Rodney McKnight and his wife, Amy and nieces Aria and Mya McKnight of Joliet, Illinois.
Funeral service will be 2:00p.m., Thursday, March 7, 2013, at First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Al Womack officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00p.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at First Assembly of God Church.
