Born May 26, 1964 in San Antonio, Texas he was the son of Homer Dwight and Betty Jo Arnold Bird. Jamie was the pastor of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Coushatta, LA.
He was preceded in death by his father and both sets of grandparents.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle Bird of Ringgold, LA, two sons, Charles Dwight Bird of Smackover, James Cody Bird (Audry) of Gary, TX and a daughter, Carlie Michelle Bird Thompson (Marcus) of Haughton, LA and his mother, Betty Bird of El Dorado. Also surviving are two sisters, Donna Shew (Mike) of El Dorado and Shannon Crenshaw (Pat) of Linden, TX along with grandchildren, Aiden Chase Stevens, Kynlee Jeaux Stevens, Dayton Dwight Bird, and Ann-Michelle Estelle Bird. Survivors also include his brothers and sisters in-law, Mark Hurst of Starkville, MS, Julie Chartrau (Greg) of Branson, MO, Gregory Hurst of Ringgold, LA and Jeff Hurst of Mt. Home, AR. In addition to numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Young’s Chapel with funeral services to follow with Brother Cody Bird and Bro. Gregory Hurst officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Primitive Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
