

Born on November 11, 1922 near Locust Bayou in Calhoun County; she was the daughter of Jesse Almon Holmes and Buena Blann Holmes. Edna worked as a waitress in El Dorado for Woody’s Grill and the Coffee Cup. Edna moved to North Little Rock and worked for Gold's Department Store. She was of the Baptist faith. Edna loved quilting, needlepoint, ceramics and working in her flower garden.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Margaret Lindsey and Polly Upton; her brothers, James ‘Buddy” Holmes, Blann Holmes, and Richard Holmes; a son Franklin Wayne Colvin; a grandson Tony Duane Colvin and two husbands Ollin Clyde Colvin and Everette ‘Andy’ Anderson.
Survivors are a daughter Thresa (John) Butterfield of El Dorado, AR; sons J. Lathaniel ‘Than' Colvin of Houston, TX and Ollis Colvin of Benton, AR; a stepdaughter Clydean Bradley of Gastonia, NC ; a brother Travis (Cathy) Holmes of N Little Rock ; a sister Gloria (Tony) Hansberger of Conway, SC; along with 11 grandchildren Scott (Tina) Butterfield, Sharon (Scot) Crenshaw, Laura (Don) Adams, Jay Colvin, Charles Colvin, Daniel Colvin, Keith Colvin, Frankie (Leona) Colvin, Jimmy Colvin, Karen Hatcher and Michael Colvin; 16 great grandchildren and 8 great great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be 11 am, Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Edgewood Memorial Park in North Little Rock with her son Lathaniel Colvin and son in law John Butterfield officiating.
The family will receive friends at Young’s Funeral Directors Tuesday evening from 5 pm to 7 pm.
