Eugenia 'Euie' Hosford Griffin

Eugenia H. “Euie” Griffin, 89 of El Dorado, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. She was born April 25, 1925, to Robert Lee and Ruth Smith Hosford in Camden, AR.

She was a member of the EHS Class of 1943, attended the University of Arkansas and was a member of Chi Omega. Eugenia was a resident of El Dorado for over 70 years and was a homemaker, a life-long member of the First Baptist Church, the Women’s Missionary Union, the El Dorado Service League, and a hostess at SAAC Lunch and Gift Shop at the Arts Center. She was a member of several Bridge Clubs and enjoyed the music of Frank Sinatra. A highlight in her life was getting to attend one of his concerts in Dallas.

Eugenia enjoyed many trips with close friends, Billye and Dr. Myron Shoffner, Dr. Don and Ruth Goodwin, and Penn and Francis Jones.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband of 52 years, Charles “Charlie” Griffin; brother, Robert “Bubba” Hosford; step-father, Lee Felsenthal, sister-in-law, Benfordine G. McGlothlin; son-in-law, John D. Trimble,V; niece, Terri Lea Hosford; and nephew, Blake Hosford.

Survivors include her two sons, Tommy Griffin, Richard Griffin, daughter, Julie G. Trimble all of El Dorado; granddaughter, Ann Trimble of Los Angeles, CA; grandson, John D. “Jack” Trimble, VI of Fayetteville, AR; sister-in-law, Patsy Hosford of El Dorado; three nephews, Jeff Hosford of Dallas, TX, Billy Jack McGlothlin (Janet), Robert McGlothlin (Paulette) both of Louisiana.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. William Harper and Staff, Dr. Donald Voelker, and the nurses from Home Health Care for their love and care.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. tonight at Young’s.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2014, at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Patrick Fleming officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
