Evelyn Taylor

Born on July 10, 1937, in Norphlet, Arkansas, Evelyn was the daughter of Elzie and Beulah Reeves Standridge. She worked for 33 years as an accounts payable clerk at Cross Oil Refinery, where she was known for her strong work ethic and attention to detail.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Melinda Taylor; her sisters, Barbara Jean Sales and Shirley Arnold; and her brother, Melvin Standridge.

Evelyn is survived by her son, James Taylor and his wife Julie of Springville, TN; her sister, Peggy Farnell of Smackover, AR; and her beloved grandchildren, Garrett Taylor of Smackover, AR and Drew (Holly) Taylor of Maumelle, AR.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors, Brother Carley Davis officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Evelyn’s memory.
