Gary Edward Franklin

Gary Edward “Edro” Franklin, 68, of Norphlet Ar, died on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at his home. Born on February 1, 1951 in El Dorado, AR; He was the son of Milton Elliot Franklin and Emma Lee Toland Franklin.

He was a 1969 graduate of Norphlet High School, where he excelled in all sports. Gary’s stellar athletic ability earned him a football scholarship at Ole Miss where he was a running back. Gary traveled the country and knew every road and highway without a map! He enjoyed the outdoors and LOVED fishing especially in Smackover creek.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Chrissi Jerry Franklin; brothers, Lewis Maurice Franklin, Donald Ray Franklin; and nephews, Tracy & Kerry Franklin.

Survivors are a sister, Flora Franklin Smith; brothers, Allen “DD” Franklin, Russell “Rusty” Franklin; nephews, Dustin, Ashton, Ryan Franklin and Wayne Franklin Cheatham; nieces, Mary-Ann Franklin, Kelle Lawrence, Elizabeth Tanner and Emery Lynne Franklin; special friends, Beryl Downs and Billy Silvertooth.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Crossroads Cemetery with Rev. Robert Wetherington officiating. Cremation services were provided by Young’s Funeral Directors.
