Gerald Lynn Dontje

He was born January 29, 1940 in Ponitac Michigan to Roger and Marjorie Dontje. Gerald worked as a maintenance tech at Great Lakes Chemical, he served in the United States Navy and was a member of the Jesse Frisby Hunting Club. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening and most of all he loved his wife and family and spending time with them.

Preceding him in death are his father, Roger Dontje, son, Joseph Dontje, brother, Gordon Dontje, sister, Annette Buttema and a grandson, Jordon Frisby.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Dontje of El Dorado; his mother Marjorie Dontje of Cadillac, Michigan; sons, Jesse Dontje and wife Shannan, Sam Deeds and wife Cindy, Jake Deeds and wife Janet; daughter, Shannon Frisby and husband Eric; grandsons, Bobby Deeds, Drake Frisby, Dylan Dontje; granddaughters, Kimberly Shirey and husband Chris, Candace Cates and husband Cole, Kayla Deeds, Taylor Rogers, Chyanna Dontje; great-grandsons, Cameron Robinson and Christian Cates and a brother, Danny Dontje of Fife Lake, Michigan.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. today at Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery with Bro. Tommy Hubbard officiating and under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
